Paul Maybury

Award-winning comic book artist Paul Maybury once worked at Whole Foods, where he would exercise his budding talents on store signage. Occasionally, his signs would offend patrons, but the one above of Mr. T apparently went too far, and got him “pushed out”:

I apparently offended a lot of people with it. Once older white lady didn’t like the angry black man yelling at her. And a Vegan didn’t like that Mr. T. pitied her because she wouldn’t eat meat.

That’s a true story.

Whole Foods’ loss is the comic book world’s gain.
